Anna Martine Whitehead

Anna Martine Whitehead is a interdisciplinary artist, writer, choreographer, and curator. She makes solos and collaborative work interrogating race, gender, utopia, and loss at the limits of performance.

Anna Martine has written numerous articles exploring the work and lives of African Diasporic, women, and queer artists, some of which have appeared in Art Practical, Daily Serving, and theoffcenter. For the last five years she has co-produced or co-curated numerous spontaneous, improvisational, and collaborative (read: queer) movement-based events in California and nationally, including VAST LANDSCAPE in Los Angeles; This Is What I Want in San Francisco; and movement//movement in Detroit.

Anna Martine is based in Chicago and San Francisco.
