Abilities United is pleased to present "Cityscape", Philip Ma’s first solo exhibition at the Abilities United Art Gallery. "Cityscape" puts together a selection of intricate and highly detailed paintings and drawings created by Philip Ma since 2004 and inspired by his numerous travels across the globe. The beauty of cities such as Venice, Rome, Madrid and San Francisco infuses the work, inviting the viewer to embark on an exquisite visual journey. About the Artist Ever since he was a child, Philip Ma was fascinated by Disney characters and could spend hours drawing and painting human and animal characters. At 7, he started more formal artistic trainings in a private art studio where he learned to use a variety of mediums. He later received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, majored in 3D Animation and Visual Effects from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. In 2014, he was a recipient of the Cupertino City Emerging Artist Award. Philip truly believes both traditional art mediums and technology tools can work hand in hand to push his art to a different level of visual expression. He is a participant in the Independent Living Skills program and the Art Program at Abilities United.
