This fall's Transform festival is one of YBCA's most ambitious dance productions ever. Each fall and spring, we will convene leading contemporary artists for a provocative showcase of dance, music, and theater that can only happen at YBCA. Nine prolific Bay Area dance companies and choreographers respond to the question, “Why citizenship?” This program is a is a triple bill featuring Amy Seiwert's Imagery; Larry Arrington/Sandra Lawson Ndu/Minoosh Zomorodinia; and Fogbeast. Amy Seiwert’s Imagery is a contemporary ballet company in San Francisco that believes that ballet is an expressive and vital voice relevant to our times. Larry Arrington is a dance artist, Sandra Lawson Ndu is a musician based in Oakland, and Minoosh Zomorodinia is an Iranian-born artist working in photography, video, performance, and installation. Fogbeast is an underground dance-theater organization working in site-specific installation, integration of voice and text, and athletic dancing, illuminating the modern trappings of the human animal through research, performance, and education in the arts.
