This show features both long-established luminaries and rising stars from the art community—including some of the Bay Area’s most critically acclaimed, internationally recognized artists and scholars. Twenty-five works by 12 tenured/tenure-track faculty will showcase recent work in printmaking, ceramics, photography, painting, textiles and multimedia installation.
Featured artists: Susan Belau, Gail Dawson, Victor De La Rosa, Lewis deSoto, Jeff Downing, Christopher Finley, Mario Laplante, Paula Levine, Julia Marshall, Paul Mullins, Matthew Lipps and Francisco Perez.
The opening celebration will feature a showcase of faculty films and choreography, as performed by students. The films will include: Jan Millsapps’ film/installation “Coverage,” Jennifer Hammett’s experimental documentary “habits of faith,” Britta Sjogren’s drama “A Small Domain” and Martha Gorzycki’s installation “Karen Voices.”
Throughout the exhibition, faculty members will participate in a series of In-Gallery Talks.
Gallery hours: Wednesdays – Saturdays, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Opening celebration: Tuesday, Sept. 25, 4 – 7 p.m.
