Ellen Tani

Ellen Tani, a graduate student at Stanford University, has been writing for Art Practical since 2012, when she was the inaugural ACAC Writing Fellow. Her affiliation with the Center for Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity at Stanford has shaped her research significantly, which focuses on modern and contemporary art and race theory in postwar America. She was the 2008 Curatorial Initiative Fellow at D.C. Arts Center in Washington, D.C., and has held internships at the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Smithsonian National Museum of American History. Ellen holds a BA from Dartmouth College and is pursuing her PhD in Art History from Stanford University, where she has become an avid triathlete.
